Are You Walking Alone?

Is there anything wrong with walking alone?  In fact, I believe sometimes it’s very much needed; maybe for mental clarity, exercise, or just because you need to get from point A to point B and don’t have a walking buddy at the time.

In the animal kingdom, there are many that choose to live in isolation or walk alone.  For example the mole, they are intolerant to trespassers down in their elaborate tunnel system, the giant anteater doesn’t like to share his food, and skunks for the most part travel alone.  There are many more examples but as I thought about these animals and their preference to live in solitude.  I thought how many of us walk alone because we don’t want to be crowded, share what we have or just have stinky aroma (attitude) penetrating the space we’re in?

I would appreciate your thoughts on this and welcome your comments below.

  1. I COMPLETELY understand! I do think there is a place in walking alone to do just what you described. However, I feel that I’m never alone because of my strong faith. But I think there are those who walk alone because of the negative attributes I mentioned in my post and how do you convey that to them or should you? It’s not good for man to be alone right? But yes, I am that lady who needs her space from time to time. Trust me it’s best for everyone around me that I get that time! 🙂

Thank you again for your feedback, it’s pretty awesome.

  2. Due to a physical trauma that I suffered around 3 years ago I spent a long time alone, unable to get out of bed for longer than 10 minutes so I obviously spent a lot of time alone with my thoughts. After the initial feelings of loneliness I began to understand myself better and learn what parts of my personality I liked and what needed to change. Once I was able to start walking again I began walking a lot as this was vital to my physical condition. The walking alone not only helped me physically but mentally it gave me the time to think, to grow and to plan my next moves and the rest of my life. 😊

    1. I’m so happy to hear that you are walking again, and heart full that through your loneliness you were able to discover something about yourself and how to move forward. Recently some huge life changes happened in my life and one of the reasons I started writing again is because I felt alone in the new area we moved to. Being able to meet and communicate with people such as yourself makes me feel somewhat less alone. However I have a strong faith in God and I know with Him I am never alone. I so appreciate you following my page and hope that you leave your feedback anytime! Looking forward to visiting your site and reading your material. Blessings.
